Treasurer
Duties include:
-
Receiving and depositing checks
-
Receiving invoices and sending payment
-
Entering all deposits and debits in Quickbooks WFA account
-
Reconciling all bank accounts
-
Preparing Treasurer’s report for the WFA Board
-
Preparing miscellaneous government report
-
Must have basic bookkeeping skills
-
Knowledge of Quickbooks a plus
This is a board position - term begins June 2024

Kathy Diedrich, the current Treasurer, will be available to provide support during the transition.

Digital Newsletter Editors
If you have some, but not all of these skills, we can still use your help!

“Window on the Wings” newsletter is published quarterly the first weeks of February, May, August and November. This position is intended to be shared.
​
Duties for this position include:

Working with the Communications Committee to:
-
Decide on theme of the newsletter.
-
Gather, research, and write articles for the newsletter.
-
Choose which articles and other text to include in the newsletter.
-
-
Working with the editorial assistant, choose and layout graphics for the newsletter.
-
Working with the webmaster on:
-
Formatting newsletter.
-
Ensuring the finished newsletter is accurate and professional.
-

Necessary Skills:
-
A basic knowledge of desktop publishing
-
Writing and research
-
Attention to deatil

Graphics Assistant
Working in coordination with the editor the graphics assistant will:

Identify graphics/images suitable for newsletter articles.

Format/layout graphics in text
Necessary skills:

Editing photos/graphics: cropping; straightening; removing background; formatting etc.

Placing photos/graphics into text: text wrapping; text boxes etc.

Writers
We are always looking for articles of interest to share with our membership. If you have finished articles or are willing to provide research in support of an article identified by the Communications Committee, please contact Cyndy Doherty at cyndy567@comcast.net

Social Media
The WFA is looking for someone to manage our social media, which currently includes Facebook and Instagram. You would be supported by the Communications Committee in finding content for both platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Create photo and video content for Wing Family of America’s social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram
-
Keep up-to-date with events, programs, and opportunities by posting consistently on all platforms
-
Create content based on information provided by the curation team, historian, genealogist, committees of WFA (Communications, Museum, etc), and WFA members
The ideal Social Media Volunteer will possess the following qualifications:
-
Familiarity/proficiency with Canva, Adobe, or other design software
-
Ability to communicate effectively and accurately in oral and written language
-
Accurate and detail oriented
