I am the daughter of Charles Richard Wing, Jr. He was the son of Charles Richard Wing who was the son of Charles Alton Wing. Albert Edwin & Francis Bailey Wing were my Dad's Uncles. Albert Edwin Wing was a genealogists and wrote a whole genealogy book on the earlier Wing generation to the 1600s. My Dad remembers visiting gravesite with him for research.

our Wing family appears to not be related to WFA but interestingly appear to be about 20 miles apart in Oxfordshire. I'm still working on making the connection.

I am trying to track down the story of the Wing lady who came early to America with four sons. The story was in the Thomas family tradition and gave them a feeling of stature, when they needed it.

I believe my own Grandfather's mother was a Wing.

Just joined. Started genealogy research a year ago. I am a Wing through Stephen. My ggg-grandmother was Catherine Wing, daughter of Giles. She was the first wife of Col. Stephen Pettis Jr. (War of 1812 Vermont 4th regiment.) She died 1812 in childbirth. Their granddaughter, Catherine Pettis, married Issac Van Norman Davis. They are my great-grandparents. The Davis and Pettis families moved from Pike County, Illinois, to Le Sueur County (east of St. Peter), Minn., in 1853 and 1854.

I am a Wing through my father, now deceased Barton Carl Wing. He was Treasurer and I believe the Vice President of the National Wing Family through the 1970s. Now my brother is the President of District 9, the Texas Wings. Hoping to make it to Des Moines this summer.
